Household spending

31.5 percent of consumers found it the right time to purchase durable goods, whereas 55.3 percent of consumers found the time wrong. A share of respondents finding it the right time to purchase durable goods has increased by 11.0 percentage points, whereas the share respondents finding it the wrong time has decreased by 1.1 percentage points. A share of “don’t know” response has decreased by 10.0 percentage points.

9.3 percent of households provided a positive reply when asked if they were planning to purchase immoveable assets. This is lower than the previous survey (2016.III) by 1.1 percentage points and 4.2 percentage points higher from its level in same period of 2015. 6.9 percent of households are planning to purchase an apartment, 1.5 percent are planning to purchase a house, 0.5 percent are planning to purchase a ger, 0.4 percent are planning to purchase a summerhouse.

In the 4th quarter of 2017, 15.4 percent of households are planning to purchase major appliances, of which 4.6 percent are planning to purchase a TV, 1.1 percent is planning to purchase a computer and 3.9 percent are planning to purchase a refrigerator. Compared to the same quarter of 2016, the number of households planning to purchase major appliances has decreased by 1.4 percentage points and has decreased by 5 percentage points compared to the same period of 2015.

In the 4th quarter of 2017, 13.9 percent of households are planning to travel and it has decreased by 5.8 percentage points from the same period of last year. Furthermore, 6.2 percent of households are planning to travel to abroad, 8.2 percent are planning to travel to domestic resorts.
